the project: Improve security administration functions for customer extranet.

my role: To accommodate customers' business structures and practices, Focal needed to modify and enhance the security architecture and administration functions for the Your Domain customer extranet. I worked with IS to determine the necessary enhancements and new functions; quality tested the new architecture and interface developed by IS; wrote user instructions and coded online help files; worked with sales to identify beta test sites; and trained the beta customers on the new functionality. I analyzed Your Domain usage statistics and performed cost/benefit analysis on the licensing structure for the GetAccess security software on which the architecture is based. Using this research and analysis, I developed a plan for migration of existing user accounts and ongoing creation of new user accounts.

the results: Responded to customer needs for more control over security functions by rearchitecting security and developing new security administration toolset.
